it makes me annoyed when drunk guys in kilts try it. it makes me furious when other dancers try it. irish dance is just as much of a dance as ballet and lyrical and tap and it deserves the same respect, especially from people who understand the value of the art.
preach. we train hard, we deserve respect. no one should make fun of us, especially not dancer who should know better.
christmas is so much worse as you get older it’s like “what do you want this year?” “a sense of purpose”
"a career" "financial security" "a sex life" "tuition for grad school" "alcohol" "a nap" "socks would be nice"
… okay so here’s the official video everyone! i look like i’m about to die the whole time, but PLEASE keep in mind it was my 5th day back in class, and i had barely danced all summer due to lack of classes where i live, so yeah, here you go anyways ;)

Irish Dancing is goddamned intense and muscley holy shit

lyrical means you have to be Mr. fucking Fantastic stretchy
Raqs Sharki is amazing with its crazy isolations and body vibrating shimmies
and I’m too tired to think of more but I swear to god each and every one of you dancers out there is a magical beast! !!
your happiness will never offend the people who truly care for you.
